An apparent incident of election sign vandalism took place on 208th Street this week.
In the 7400 block of 208th Street, more than half a dozen signs, including two large signs held up with two-by-fours, were knocked down, flung into bushes, or in one case bent around a fence.
The damage was apparently done late Friday, Sept. 21 or early Saturday, Sept. 22.
The damage was only on the western side of the street, with signs on the eastern side untouched.
Signs from a number of candidates were damaged or thrown around. No particular candidate seemed to have been targeted more than any other.
Election sign vandalism is common during campaign season, whether for municipal, provincial, or federal elections.
