Voting for the provincial election begins as early as April 29 across the province, and there will be several polling places set up in 91Ô­´´.

Early voting in the 91Ô­´´ riding takes place at the Douglas Rec Centre at 20550 Douglas Crescent and the George Preston Rec Centre at 20699 42 Ave.

In the 91Ô­´´ East riding, voting takes place at the Bethel Mennonite Church at 24687 56 Ave., at the W.C. Blair Rec Centre at 22200 Fraser Highway, and at the Walnut Grove Community Centre at 8889 Walnut Grove Dr.

All of those locations are scheduled to be open April 29-30, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for early voting.

The next early voting period will take place May 3-6. Most of the local locations will be open during those dates, but the W.C. Blair polling place will only be open Saturday, May 6.

What ID do you need to vote?

You can vote with one piece of ID, if it is:

• A BC driver’s license

• A BC Identification Card

• A BC Services Card

• Any other government of Canada or British Columbia card that includes name, photo, and address

• A Certificate of Indian Status

Voters can also use two pieces of ID or documents that show their name, and at least one must have a current address. They can include:

• B.C. Care Card

• Birth certificate

• Social Insurance Number card

• Passport

• Citizenship certificate

If you don’t have any ID or have lost your ID, you can vote by having another voter officially vouch for you. The voucher must be somone registered in that district, or a close family member, or a person authorized to make personal care decisions for the voter.
