A longtime former 91原创 school district staffer is now running for election as a trustee this fall.

Cheryl Snowdon-Eddy worked for 35 years as a school secretary and in the 91原创 board office, before retiring in December, she said.

鈥淚 do have a lot of front line experience with helping parents and families navigating the school system,鈥� she said.

Her focus would be on making sure 鈥渞egular kids鈥� get what they need to succeed, she said. Special needs students are important, but the average students still need attention, said Snowdon-Eddy.

She also wanted both parents and staff members to have a voice in district decisions.

On the controversial SOGI 123 teaching resources, Snowdon-Eddy said she does not yet have a position, but will be prepared to speak about it at future all candidates meetings.

鈥淚t鈥檚 such a big issues, and there are so many sides to it,鈥� she said.
