91原创's Dallas Smith released his self-titled album last October. Now, the 91原创 artist is up for four CCMA awards this year.

On the eve of an appearance before hundreds upon hundreds of his hometown fans, 91原创's Dallas Smith has big news to share. He's been nominated for four Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards.

Smith, a 46-year-old singer and songwriter 鈥 who performs both as a solo country music artists and as a lead singer for the hard rock band Default 鈥 will be headlining the sold-out Gone Country charity country music event in Cloverdale on Saturday, July 20.

That in itself is a big deal for Smith, who's been a supporter of the the Twins Cancer Fundraising (TCF) efforts and fellow 91原创鈥檚 philanthropic twins 鈥 Chris and Jamie Ruscheinski 鈥 from the start.

鈥淚t seemed so fitting to bring back Dallas Smith to go out with the biggest bang we could,鈥 Chris said, noting Smith was at the first Gone Country and now set to headline the finale.

鈥淚t felt right that he returns to help us close down the finale. I mean, he鈥檚 only won CCMA entertainer of the year three times, has 18 gold-certified singles, seven platinum-certified singles, and four gold-certified albums, plus an all-around great guy who puts on a hell of a show," Chris shared with the 91原创 Advance Times.

鈥淭his is going to quickly go down as the craziest Gone Country ever,鈥 Chris added, excited to have Smith and several other friends and big names in the country music industry joining them on the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre stage for the wrap-up event.

This is the 10th charity Gone Country concert in the past 13 years, and it will be the last. TCF will be looking at launching a new venture, Chris noted, keeping quiet about what's on the horizon for he and his brother, and all their "incredible" TCF volunteers and supporters who have raised hundreds of thousands for cancer-related causes through the years.

In the meantime, Smith 鈥 who made his debut last month at the Grand Ole Opry, is up for a quartet of industry accolades.

The CCMA list includes the Ford F-150 album of the year, for his self-titled album released last fall. He's also up for the male artist of the year crown, as well as the fans' choice award, which requires people to vote online. People can cast their vote for their favourite out of 10 candidates, Smith being one of them. Votes can be cast at ccmafanvote.com or by using #CCMAVoteDallasSmith on X (formerly Twitter).

Plus, for Smith's work with "labelmate" Mackenzie Porter (who's up for six CCMA Awards herself) on two of the 12 songs on his new album ('One too' and 'Singing in a Beer') and shared writing credits with a long list of songwriters, he's earned a nomination for the musical collaboration of the year award.

The awards will be presented during the 42nd annual CCMA Awards in Edmonton on Sept. 14, where Smith is among a fistful of artist already confirmed to be performing, as well.

Earlier this year, Smith became the first artist to ever achieve 13 No. 1 singles on Canadian Country Radio, and he already has two JUNO Awards to his credit, as well as three CCMA entertainer of the year awards.
