From the centre of Vancouver鈥檚 art scene, to the village of Fort 91原创, artist Veronica Plewman has settled in for the first of solo two shows this year with the Fort Gallery.

First up is Suspended and Flowing, an exhibit which began on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and runs until March 3.

Recently an artist with the Bau-Xi gallery on South Granville street, and then with the Jacana Gallery on South Granville, Veronica has found a home at the Fort Gallery to show her recent paintings, and has already booked a second show for September.

鈥淚t鈥檚 not just an opportunity to see and purchase her works in person, Veronica will also be hosting an artist talk for her reception on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.,鈥� said gallery manager Tim Fraser.

鈥淎nyone is welcome to come down to the gallery that day, sit in and take part鈥�.

Born in Vancouver and raised in Kitimat, Veronica earned a bachelor's degree, majoring in fine art, from Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia.

Her work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions, charity auctions, and she has received awards for her paintings, the latest of which was the 2010 Torrit Grey Competition, sponsored by Gamblin Colors, Portland, Ore.

The Fort Gallery is open Wednesdays to Sundays, from noon to 5 p.m., at 9048 Glover Rd. in the center of the Fort 91原创 village. For more information, visit www.fortgallery.ca.
