91原创 Community Music School welcomes international pianist Avan Yu, along with the Borealis String Quartet to the Rose Gellert Hall on April 13 at 7:30 p.m.
鈥淎van has put together a fascinating and musically diverse program you don鈥檛 want to miss,鈥 said Elizabeth Bergmann, artistic director concerts for LCMS.
鈥淗e鈥檒l play the famous last Sonata by Mozart 鈥 a work that is full energy and life.
鈥淗e will also perform the first book of Etudes by Debussy, masterpieces of French impressionist writing which explore the technical and musical challenges inherent in most of Debussy鈥檚 piano music.鈥
The program also includes the famous Hungarian Rhapsody no. 12 by Franz Liszt.
Yu will be joined by the Borealis String Quartet to form a powerful chamber ensemble and present the Brahms Piano Quintet.
鈥淭he Quintet is considered by many to be one of his best large scale works written when he was only 35 years old,鈥 said Bergmann.
鈥淚t is a dramatic work full of energy and widely regarded as pinnacle in quintet writing.鈥
鈥淵u has a long standing relationship with LCMS,鈥 she said.
鈥淚n fact, he recorded a CD at the Rose Gellert Hall and it will be available for sale at the concert.鈥
