Members of rock band Nickelback will be on Granville Street in Vancouver for a StarWalk ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday (June 28), for their induction in the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame.

Fans and media are invited to attend in the 800-block of Granville, near Orpheum Theatre and Commodore Ballroom.

The presentation will be held prior to the band鈥檚 concert at Rogers Arena that night.

Nickelback joins the 300-plus previous StarWalk inductees recognized for their 鈥渟ignificant contribution to the province鈥檚 entertainment industry and cultural landscape.鈥�

鈥淎n artist that has reached the international heights that Nickelback has reached provides exactly the type of inspiration that the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame exists to recognize,鈥� said Bill Allman, the organization鈥檚 president.

Two other StarWalk ceremonies were held this month, for Loverboy (June 15) and Rocket Norton (June 22).

Sunday in Calgary, Nickelback was inducted into Canada鈥檚 Music Hall of Fame.

The Alberta-raised band moved to Vancouver in the 1990s when they began recording a string of hit songs, including 鈥淗ow You Remind Me,鈥� 鈥淧hotograph,鈥� 鈥淔ar Away鈥� and 鈥淩ockstar.鈥� Band members are singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger, guitarist Ryan Peake, bass player Mike Kroeger and drummer Daniel Adair, who was raised in Surrey.
