For a handful of years now, a highlight among the world-renowned 91原创 Ukulele Ensemble鈥檚 busy fall season of rehearsals and performances is always their Christmas production.
Well, this year鈥檚 show is coming up this weekend 鈥 Saturday, Dec. 16 to be precise.
And once again, it鈥檚 at the Willoughby Christian Reform Church, said Paul Luongo, the director of the senior ensembles.
鈥淭his has been a staple and a tradition in 91原创 for the past five years. Even before my time as director, the Christmas productions the ensemble has put on always gets its audiences into the Christmas spirit,鈥 said Luongo.
This year鈥檚 Christmas-themed show is once again a fundraiser.
The ensemble must raise money to cover travel costs for this summer鈥檚 trip to eastern Canada.
They鈥檒l be performing at the Nova Scotia Tattoo in Halifax, as well as the Stratford Music Festival and Canadian National Exhibition in Ontario.
This event will also help cover costs associated with the groups 24th visit to Honolulu, Hawaii next year, Luongo aid.
During this trip, the kids perform at the Sheraton Waikiki, among other popular locations to entertain both islanders and visitors alike with their music abilities.

This Saturday鈥檚 concert is being held at the Willoughby church, 20525 72nd Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starting at 7.
