Members of the 91原创 Arts Council have more going on than just local shows 鈥� many artists in the community are currently showcasing in bigger venues or using their art to give back.

91原创 artist Joyce Trygg told the Aldergrove Star that she just received her cheque from Artists for Conservation for the second painting that she sold through their shows.

鈥淭he good news is that 50 per cent of the sale price goes for conservation projects. I am pleased to support the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Africa,鈥� Trygg explained. 鈥淭hey have rescued and reintegrated hundreds of orphaned baby elephants. A wonderful organization.鈥�

Linda Morris currently has 30 paintings in her solo exhibition 鈥淭he Harmony of Colours,鈥� which is showing until March 31 at the Timms Community Ctr. Walkway 鈥� 20399 Douglas Crescent.

鈥淩eflections Shimmering鈥� has been accepted into the Artist鈥檚 Choice Exhibition (Feb 8 to 21) while 鈥淔ields of Red鈥� and 鈥淓vening on the Fraser鈥� are in the Curated Collection until February 28.

Gabrielle Strauss has been accepted into the Works on Paper show with her painting 鈥楤ursting of Color鈥�, and into the Abstracted Show with her painting 鈥楪lobal Isolation鈥�. B

Both shows take place at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island.
