The largest bead show in Western Canada is back for its ninth consecutive year this weekend.
The Fraser Valley Bead Show, happens Oct. 4 to 6 at the Coast Hotel Convention Centre in 91原创.
鈥淲e love hosting the fall show in 91原创, because it is a great big venue with free parking and it鈥檚 the perfect time of year to get your craft on,鈥 said the show's producer, Barrie Edwards.
鈥淭he kids are back to school and Christmas is still far enough away to pick up gifts or stock up on new projects and even learn new techniques, if that鈥檚 your cup of tea."
Look out for vendors, new and old, and discover sparkling gemstones from Komarevich Originals, unusual talismans and treasures from Bamboo Beads and Bling, or race over to Capilano Rock and Gems鈥 booth to pick up tools suitable for beginners and jewelry-making enthusiasts alike.
There will be jewelry for sale and a free glass bead making demonstration by Pacific Pyros Glass Beadmakers and Vancouver鈥檚 Terminal City Glass Co-Op.
Crafty folks can take home a stock of stimulating supplies and brush up on their skills at one of the 16 classes.
鈥淲e are so pleased to have one of North America鈥檚 most popular instructors teaching four classes,鈥 said Edwards.
鈥淩obyn Cornelius of Little Rock Jewelry Studio in Edmonton will be introducing a couple of her classes including Enameled Copper Wave Bangles, Water Cast Pearl Ring, and Vintage Watch Pendant.鈥
Cascades Casino/Coast Hotel Convention Centre is located at 20393 Fraser Hwy. Show times are Friday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission for adults is $7 at the door, and free for kids under 12. Optional donations will be accepted for Beads of Courage, a program that uses beads to mark major milestones in the lives of children suffering from serious illnesses.
