Down by the tracks at the old CN train station in Fort 91原创, an originative collection of art awaits discovery.
The Fort 91原创 Artists Group 鈥 known as FLAG 鈥 is opening their show and sale at the Flagstop Gallery on Saturday, May 20 with Sunlight and Shadows.
Exhibiting this season are members Alison Philpott, Beverly Lawrence, Candice Moen, Diane Zepeski, Ela Cholewa, Eileen Butler, Felicity Holmes, Gabrielle Strauss, Gail Simpson, Margo Harrison, Marguerite Whelton, Jeanie Shilton, Kim Bucholtz, Mary-Ann Snell and Pat Weibelzahl.
鈥淭he 鈥楩laggies鈥 are a group of 15 locals who are passionate about expressing the narrative of life through their art practice,鈥 said Harrison, one of the original members of the group, which was started by 91原创 artist Barbara Boldt.
Instrumental acoustic guitarist Ernie Day will provide live music as the group celebrates the opening of their exhibition season.
鈥淲e extend a warm invitation to the public to come and meet the artists and enjoy the music,鈥 said Strauss.
Sunlight and Shadows runs through to June 18, followed by Artists Choice from June 24 to July 30.
The finale show and sale of the summer, The Four Seasons, will run Aug. 5 to Sept. 4.
Flagstop Gallery, located at 23245 Mavis Ave., is open from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday from May 20 to Sept. 4.
