The T-Birds and the Pink Ladies are back.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the iconic musical Grease, Cineplex 91原创 will be screening the film on April 15 and 18 as part of their Classic Film Series.

Released in 1978 to immediate fanfare, Grease is a box office success that has grossed $395 million worldwide, making it one of the most successful musicals ever made and a film that still resonates today. Premiering just one year after Saturday Night Fever, Grease cemented John Travolta as a Hollywood star and catapulted pop star Olivia Newton John to even greater fame. The film鈥檚 soundtrack was also an instant hit, featuring two number one singles, You鈥檙e the One That I Want and Grease.

The Classic Film Series gives moviegoers the opportunity to revisit time-honoured favourites the way they were meant to be seen 鈥� on the big screen and shared with an audience. Also included in the winter/spring 2018 line-up are Charade, Doctor Dolittle and To Kill a Mockingbird, based on the acclaimed novel by Harper Lee.

After Regina Lampert (Audrey Hepburn) falls for the dashing Peter Joshua (Cary Grant) on a skiing holiday in the French Alps, she discovers upon her return to Paris that her husband has been murdered. Soon, she and Peter are giving chase to three of her late husband鈥檚 World War II cronies, Tex (James Coburn), Scobie (George Kennedy) and Gideon (Ned Glass), who are after a quarter of a million dollars the quartet stole while behind enemy lines. Charade is an elegant thriller that manages to spoof its genre while also being uncommonly suspenseful. Doctor Dolittle | Feb. 21

Doctor Dolittle (Rex Harrison) is a world-renowned veterinarian who speaks a wide array of animal languages. He sets off from his home in Puddleby-on-the-Marsh, England, in search of the Great Pink Sea Snail. In so doing, he and his friends meet such exotic creatures as the pushme-pullyu and the giant lunar moth. This musical is the source of the hit song, 鈥淚f I Could Talk To The Animals.鈥�

To Kill a Mockingbird | March 11 and 14

Scout Finch (Mary Badham) and her older brother, Jem (Phillip Alford), live in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama, spending much of their time with their friend Dill (John Megna) and spying on their reclusive and mysterious neighbour, Boo Radley (Robert Duvall). When Atticus (Gregory Peck), their widowed father and a respected lawyer, defends a black man named Tom Robinson (Brock Peters) against fabricated rape charges, the trial and tangent events expose the children to evils of racism and stereotyping.

Grease | April 15 and 18

The year is 1958 and Sandy and Danny are starting their final year at Rydell High School after a summer fling at the beach. After realizing they attend the same school, they try to rekindle their romance but Danny鈥檚 school persona is very different than the boy Sandy met at the beach. Will Sandy and Danny change who they are to be together? Audiences are along for the ride as the teens race cars, attend school dances and sing all their favourite songs.
