Canadian folk musicians Jenny Banai and Bre McDaniel will be performing in 91原创 this Friday (June 23) at the new Bez Arts Hub.
Banai鈥檚 voice has been compared to folk singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, with a mix of the soulful stresses of folk-pop artist Feist.
Her debut album, , features unconventional melodies with haunting violins, ukulele and guitar strums.
McDaniel has had her voice described as 鈥渕agic on toast.鈥 She began writing music while completing a visual arts degree, and these artistic qualities are often reflected in her songs. She is currently on tour promoting her EP, .
The pair have also created a documentary, , on their first Canadian tour. The video depicts what it is like to travel with artists of different mediums, and highlights their heritage and connection to each other and to Canada.
