Candidate Bio
I’m Megan Dykeman, and I’m seeking re-election after proudly serving as your MLA since 2020. During my term, I served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development and Non-Profits, where I had the honour of advocating for charitable organizations and nonprofits across BC.
Before becoming MLA, I was a three term Trustee and served as Chair of the 91Ô´´ Board of Education from 2018-2020. I hold a BPA in Governance, Law and Management and a Master’s in International Relations and I’m passionate about driving positive social and economic change for our community.
As a farmer for over 20 years, a small business owner, and long-time volunteer in our community; I’m committed to serving 91Ô´´, where I’ve raised my two children and continue to reside today.

Candidate Questions
We asked all candidates a question about how they envisioned 91Ô´´ in 20 years, and what they and their party would do to get us there:
91Ô´´ is a great place to live but it is growing fast, with almost 10,000 new people in the last two years. This growth puts pressure on all our services. The BC NDP is taking action for 91Ô´´ now with investments that will make this community even better in the future.
I envision better healthcare for 91Ô´´ through continued investments like our 300 new LTC beds, an expanded ER for 91Ô´´ Memorial & a new UPCC. Investments in the future of family medicine – a new medical school & incentives to ensure that doctors trained in BC remain in BC.
I envision a better education system for 91Ô´´, through continued investments like adding over 5,000 new student spaces in our Township alone, including fast modular additions to existing schools & three brand new schools: Smith Secondary, Smith Middle, and North East Latimer Elementary.
I envision a 91Ô´´ with less commuter congestion, with investments like the much-needed expansion of Highway 1, SkyTrain service to 91Ô´´, expanding rail through to Chilliwack, a dedicated rapid bus service, and continued the widening of Highway 1.
John Rustad and the BC Conservatives plan to cut healthcare spending by $4.1 billion. He’s said that his solution to a lack of schools is to increase class sizes by 20%. He has a 20-year record of higher costs and cuts to services. He is a risk we cannot take.
When times are tough, we’re at our best when we look out for one another and invest in our future.

• Candidate’s age: 43
• What neighbourhood of 91Ô´´/Aldergrove/Abbotsford do you live in? Walnut Grove

• Profession: I am a political scientist who graduated from TWU in 2021 with a bachelor of arts and science. I am also a Spiritual spartan and a warrior in Christ.

Candidate Bio
I know that some of you already know me from the municipal election of 2022. And my reasons have stayed the same.
I am running to create and provide opportunities, something that this NDP government has lacked for TWU graduates and Christian people, and I speak from personal experience with my job search in the BC public sector.
I am also running to protect the youth and children from the globalist indoctrination that both leftist and globalist agendas have come to bring in modern days.
This with the motivation to increase motivation among young Christians and future leaders in Canada. Finally, the housing crisis needs real, compassionate solutions to provide opportunities for people. This is done by working hard, but with the brain, not the…

Candidate Questions
We asked all candidates a question about how they envisioned 91Ô´´ in 20 years, and what they and their party would do to get us there:
Like the strength of any organization, Vision and Mission are essential.
This is why my vision for 91Ô´´ is to preserve the land mainly for farming and to empower and encourage food growth and food competition in the food market, especially for organic food. But I also envision a society where people can afford housing and build a happy family.
This is why my policy and vision for housing will be to create more BC housing in 91Ô´´ Walnut Grove and use the advantages of pre-zoning to prioritize the use of land to build B.C. housing and rent-to-own developments.
I am aware that you can buy a property with only 5% down payments, but sometimes we don’t even have that 5%; thus, it will be ideal for young couples, ages 30-40, to live in B.C. housing for a year or two while they save the down payment of their first place of course, B.C. rules and policy need to be amended. Getting young couples in the market should be our priority as a government while also fighting gangs and the drug business in our communities.
In my opinion, more social responsibility will also include the ability of the government to freeze the increase in rent costs for five years, while young families can save money to buy their first home or have the choice to be fruitful and multiply without having to be condemned to poverty and the oppression of the house market and government.
Even the government can do that while building more housing in 91Ô´´.
