The Lower Mainland Wine Ninjas have branched out.

Not content with just leaving free bottles of wine on random people鈥檚 doorsteps, the group has created the 鈥淜indness Ninjas鈥� in an effort to do more good in the community.

The Kindness Ninjas hosted a drive-through donation event at the Cloverdale Community Kitchen June 20.

Group creator Christina Kellie said she wanted to spread kindness as far as possible.

鈥淚 wanted to use my platform to do more,鈥� Kellie explained. 鈥淟ower Mainland Wine Ninjas has 17,000 members and I wanted to engage them.鈥�

Kellie said people gave more than $500 and donated four pallets of goods, which included non-perishable food items, diapers, formula, and other household items June 20.

鈥淚t was good,鈥� Kellie said of the turnout. 鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 as big as we hoped, but we鈥檙e happy with the donations. Every little bit helps.鈥�

Kellie said all donations went directly to the Community Kitchen and to the Surrey and 91原创 food banks.

The Kindness Ninjas asked all those that brought donations to the drive-through event to leave the items in their trunks or back seats and to remain in their vehicles as they wanted to 鈥渒eep it as COVID-friendly as possible,鈥� Kellie said.

Kellie added the Kindness Ninjas are continuing on with charitable work as they are already organizing a toy drive for the fall.
