Starting Monday, Sept. 9, the Aldergrove Heritage Hall will be offering yoga classes three times a week every week throughout the fall season.

Following a test trial during the summer and positive feedback, retired yoga instructor Mary Kydd will continue to volunteer her time to lead the sessions, said hall president Patsy Homan.

"We have received a great response from those in our community and from outside the community," she said.

The hall is expanding the once-a-week class to three times a week for the fall.

Mondays will focus on regular gentle chair yoga and meditation, but a new class on Wednesdays combines Thai Chi moves, yoga, and weights.

Also new is a fusion of dance moves on Fridays.

"Three times a week is our goal to improve fitness and our focus on mobility," Homan said.

All classes run from 10 to 11 a.m. with a drop-in fee of $3. The annual hall membership is $20, which is required to join the yoga classes. For more information, people can email commevents222@gmail.com.

The hall is located at 3105 273 St.

It's also accepting donations of two-, three, and five-pound weights as well as stretching bands for the classes, so the hall has its own collection.

People looking to donate can email aldergroveheritagehall@gmail.com.
