91Ô­´´'s new Williams Park holiday light display opened Monday, Dec. 9.

A new holiday lights display is being presented by the Township of 91Ô­´´ in Williams Park. One big change is reservations are required. No drop- ins.

Kevin Muirhead,  the special event manager for the Township of 91Ô­´´, estimated 180,000 lights were installed for the first year of the free drive-through event.

"That includes spotlights and other decor," Muirhead told the 91Ô­´´ Advance Times.

Event nights will run until Dec. 29, with the exception of Christmas and Boxing Day. 

This year, Muirhead cautioned, there are no drop-ins. Visitors are required to book a specific time for their visit by, using a MyTownship account. 

Those who don't have an account can set one up at .

Tickets are booked in 30 minute increments. Only one person per vehicle needs to register.

Registration is open for everyone, both Township and non-Township residents.

Anyone who has registered and need to cancel, is asked to withdraw from their time slot to give others the opportunity to attend, by logging into their account at . .

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, volunteers from the 91Ô­´´ Forest School in Williams Park were taking contributions for the Aldergrove Food Bank via credit or debit card as cars exited.

"We're just happy to be collecting for the Aldergrove Food Bank and work alongside the Township of 91Ô­´´, " Laureen Mahe-Klaassen, founding founding educator at LFS, commented.

On Saturday Dec. 14 heavy winds cause a power ourtage that forced the display to close. 

"We encourage guests who had registrations cancelled on Saturday to consider registering again as Holiday Lights is on until Sunday, Dec. 29 and there are still time slots available," an online advisory from the Township said.

This year, the Township of 91Ô­´´ took over hosting the annual Williams Park light drive-through light display, which used to be operated by the volunteer-run Christmas in Williams Park Society.
