Like so many at the 2017 Relay for Life in 91原创 Friday night, Emily Taylor Adams has been touched by cancer.

Adams is a 91原创 singer and songwriter bound for Nashville this summer.

But she took time on Friday night to share her story, her compassion for others, and her music with those who gathered at the McLeod Athletic Park for the annual .

It鈥檚 the annual fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, and following multiple speeches and awards presentations, Adams was invited up on stage to entertain the masses.

She spoke of how the disease had touched her, and ones she鈥檇 loved, including her grandpa who died of lung cancer, her uncle who lost his battle with prostate cancer, and one her mother鈥檚 friend who died of leukemia just last week.

鈥淚鈥檓 really happy that I can help give back to the community, help everyone who is being affected by cancer, and I hope that everyone can make it through,鈥� she said.
