More than 130 rain-soaked participants took part in the Santa Shuffle fundraiser, a 5K fun run and 1K "Elf Walk" for the Salvation Army's Willows Family Life Centre on Saturday morning, Dec. 7 at Blacklock Fine Arts Elementary School in 91Ô´´ City.
"We provide holistic care to the families that are living in the 91Ô´´ community," said Andrea Petkau, integrated mission supervisor at the centre, as participants waited for the signal to start.
"We had about 125 people register for us this year [and] we've had at least a dozen walk-ins for registration this morning," Petkau estimated.
Third annual Santa Shuffle fundraiser for Salvation Army programs was held Saturday morning at Blacklock school.

Every participant received a medal with their race kit.
