Three 91原创 residents have been honoured for making significant contributions to the community.
On Thursday, Aug. 29, 91原创 MLA Andrew Mercier presented King's Coronation Medals to Katie Glover, Cecelia Reekie and Paul Albrecht.
"I nominated three outstanding individuals in 91原创 for the award and all three received the medal," Mercier commented.
Mercier described Glover, a Brookswood Secondary School teacher as someone"goes above and beyond engaging the next generation with government and their community."
Reekie, a former school trustee is a "passionate advocate for reconciliation and indigenous education in the 91原创 School District."
Albrecht, a 91原创 City Councillor and labour leader, "has been a leader for working people in our community and the province," Mercier said.
The medal was established on May 3, 2023.
Administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall, it will be presented to approximately 30,000 Canadians, with B.C. allotted 551.
Recipients have made significant contributions to British Columbia or to a particular region or community in the province, or have attained an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to B.C.
