The teams, made up of the 12 villagers from each of The Village鈥檚 six houses, are competing against the other for bragging rights and a trophy that will live in the winning house for the year.
Points are tallied throughout the morning and afternoon competitions this week, with the winners to be announced Friday, during a special closing ceremony.
In the wrap-up event, the winner will be crowned following a tug-of-war between Township of 91原创 firefighters and 91原创 paramedics.
As many as eight to 10 members of each emergency responder team will be on scene for the tug-of-war, and the winners of the pull get the honour of announcing The Village鈥檚 winning team, Podwinski explained.
鈥淚t鈥檚 about promoting [National] Seniors Day and bringing Villagers together to enjoy some physical fitness,鈥 Rodwinski said, noting the centre coordinates a number of such fun activities for Villagers throughout the year.
The event was first held in 2020 as a one-day competition. It was skipped last year, but is back this year, bigger and better, she concluded.
