The Force was strong in Downtown 91原创 City Saturday

Big groups of youngsters took part in Jedi training Saturday.

The Downtown 91原创 Business Association Summer Series event for July 15 was Jedi in the Plaza. Five special themed summer events are being hosted this year with three more to come

91原创鈥檚 littlest were able to learn introductory Jedi skills at Saturday鈥檚 Summer Series hosted by the Downtown 91原创 Business Association.

In the shade of McBurney Plaza, they were taught by Obi-Wan Kenobi鈥檚 descendant, Jedi master Obi-Kai Kenobi (whose day-to-day name is Marty Carew).

The kids each received a foam stage-three training lightsabre after the training.

For the Saturday afternoon gathering, people were also able to take part in a Star Wars-inspired painting, taught by local artist Freda Lombard.

Summer Series:

鈥� July 29 鈥� Sports in the Plaza

Various sports teams, mascots and games from noon to 3 p.m.

鈥� Aug. 12 鈥� World Music in the Plaza

Music, dance and more from noon to 3 p.m.

鈥� Sept. 17 鈥� Create it in the Plaza

DIY ideas for everyone

Each runs noon to 3 p.m.
