Dear Mom:

You are in my thoughts so often these days. Especially whenever I come across a hummingbird, alive or in art form. (For my sister, it鈥檚 a dragonfly).

We hope you feel our love and devotion through the tattoos we carry in your memory.

Momsee, I remember your intensity, sense of humour, and the hard work and tenderness that our family was lucky enough to receive.

Your special talents of baking and sewing. Apple Kuchen, potato pancakes, buttercream icing on birthday cake, to name just a few recipes.

In the old photo album, Sis and I marvel at the expertly made jumper dresses, the groovy pants, and the halter tops that you worked so hard on. Did I ever thank you for the guitar carry case or red velvet jacket and skirt for high school graduation?

I鈥檓 glad that we said, 鈥淚 love you鈥� to each other as adults.

The trips across the border, for shopping and lunch, are relived in my mind quite often, too.
