Christmas time鈥檚 a鈥檆omin鈥 to Aldergrove on Saturday, Dec. 9.
It鈥檚 going to be a fun-packed day for all families in our community, with a children鈥檚 party, a parade and light-up competitions happening on that day in Aldergrove.
The fun begins with the annual Children鈥檚 Christmas Party hosted by the Aldergrove Elks Club. From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., inside the cosy Aldergrove Legion Hall at 26607 Fraser Hwy., the special guest stars include Santa Claus and his Merry Elves, along with Princess Moana from Disney providing the entertainment.
Madam Butterfly will be there with her balloon creations and face painting for the youngsters, and Santa will pose for photos with the children.
There will be hot dogs and refreshments, and goodie bags handed out to all. In addition there will be four door prizes for the boys and girls.
Then at 6 p.m., the Christmas 鈥淟ight Up鈥 Parade will winds its way through downtown Aldergrove.
Presented by the Aldergrove Festival Days Society, the Christmas 鈥淟ight Up鈥 Parade runs along Fraser Highway through downtown Aldergrove and includes carol singing and free hot chocolate.
The parade route runs from the Community Policing Office at 270 Street and ends at 273 Street.
After the parade, the Walter Levy trophy is presented to the Christmas home decorating contest winners.
There is still time for the public to enter a float in the parade. The application deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 6. To enter a float in the parade, please register by completing a Christmas Light Up Parade form available on-line at
and return it by Dec. 6.
