Rotary searching for local women of distinction

Four 91原创 clubs once again seek nominations for unsung female heroes

In celebration of International Women鈥檚 Day, local Rotary Clubs are once again seeking nominees for their annual Women of Distinction Awards.

The four Rotary Clubs of 91原创 are celebrating International Women鈥檚 Day 2025 with a luncheon and their annual award presentation for unsung heroes in the community, elaborated Rotarian and event organizer Annette Borrows.

"Do you know of a woman who works hard in the community but doesn鈥檛 receive or expect any fanfare?" she queried.

Applications to nominate a candidate for the Women of Distinction Award is available on the event鈥檚 . Or, for additional information, people can contact Sydney Morfitt at sydney.morfitt@gmail.com.

The deadline for nominations is Feb. 22.

Last year's event, more than 100 people attended the sold-out 12th annual International Women鈥檚 Day luncheon, where Kate Ludlam, Kellie Reynolds, and Nora Truman were recognized as women of distinction for their heroic efforts and community service.

This year's  luncheon and awards event will be held at Adrians At The Airport on Saturday, March 8. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with the luncheon from noon to 2 p.m.

Tickets are $60. The event will also feature a silent auction and 50/50 draw, and this year's guest speaker is 91原创's own local business coach Beverlee Rasmussen, who will address this year鈥檚 theme of "Accelerate Action."
