On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) will rock the Pacific Coliseum as one of the celebrated performers of the PNE Fair鈥檚 Summer Night Concerts.
 
BTO, one of Canda鈥檚 most celebrated rock 鈥榥' roll bands ever, played the PNE five decades ago in a concert that many consider one of the marquee performances of the era.

On Tuesday, the iconic Pacific Coliseum will come alive with the music of BTO in a special event that will feature hits from the band鈥檚 considerable book of music, including such hits as "Let It Ride," "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet," "Takin' Care of Business," "Hey You," and "Roll on Down the Highway."
 
PNE creative director Patrick Roberge said, 鈥淏TO is the pride of Western Canada and we are excited to pay tribute to Randy and the rest of the band for their impact to rock 鈥榥 roll here in Canada and around the world.鈥�
 
Randy Bachman, one of the original members of BTO and longtime British Columbia resident, said it鈥檚 a thrill to be celebrating those amazing 1970鈥檚 era shows with this special concert.
 
鈥淚n 1974, BTO returned home to Vancouver with a #1 album, a #1 single, and a world tour. After years of playing Gastown clubs and the Breakers in Point Roberts every Sunday, this was a triumphant celebration," Bachman shared.

"To play the PNE where we had seen so many great rock concerts was golden! We had so many people there that night, we set an attendance record. For this show, my son Tal has joined the band, replacing my brothers who have passed, and BTO is back in full overdrive! We will rock it!鈥�

The PNE is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering more than three million visitors a year with memorable experiences through access to cultural, music, sporting, and family entertainment events, as well as access to public space for passive recreation.

Founded in 1910, the PNE鈥檚 home is Hastings Park, a multi-facility venue that is also home to Playland Amusement Park.
