PHOTOS: Saran family raises $1.5k at Aldergrove photo shoot

All donations given to Canucks Autism Network

There was a record-breaking turnout at the Saran family's fifth annual photo shoot fundraiser on Nov. 30.

On the Alpine Tree Farm in Aldergrove, Santa made a visit for the day to pose for photos with humans and pets alike.

All funds went towards Canucks Autism Network, explained Sherry Saran, mom of the family and local realtor, and this year raised more than $1,500.

"The response was incredible. Our turnout was three times the number of people compared to last year," said Rhythm Nagpal, client care manager who works with Saran.

"We were delighted to see such a great turnout."

Thanks to the massive turnout, this year's photo shoot also raised significantly more than last year, she added.

"The atmosphere was fantastic, and we had an amazing time engaging with the kids, families, and all the furry friends who joined us."

Tillie Williamson, fundraising event specialist for CAN, shared her thanks with the Saran family and community members.

"It was a wonderful community event that brought many families and their pets out to see Santa and support CAN," Williamson said.

She added that Veronica's Perogies donated an additional $400 to CAN as well.

Nagpal said the event will return again next year.
