Aldergrove family stages weekend event for BC Children鈥檚 Hospital at Save On Foods

Nine-year-old Aldergrove resident Kasey Bunville was already having a good time when she spotted the bear.

As the BC Children鈥檚 Hospital mascot 鈥淪unny Bear鈥 ambled towards the table where Kasey and older sister Kalyn, 11, were collecting donations, she jumped up and went for a hug.

It鈥檚 been about seven years since Kasey was diagnosed with leukemia.

Following the diagnosis in May of 2010, monthly treatments of chemo at Children鈥檚 Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital鈥檚 cancer unit put her cancer in remission.

Now, she鈥檚 cancer-free, and her family by raising money for Children鈥檚.

罢丑别测鈥檝别 , and the afternoon August 12 event at the Save-On-Foods store in Aldergrove at Fraser Highway and 264 street raised more than $700.
