Young entrepreneurs will want to bust out the folding table, jugs and glasses if they want to participate in Lemonade Day 2024.
Lemonade Day is Aug. 24 this year. It is a free educational initiative designed to teach children entrepreneurial skills through the experience of running their own lemonade stand. This annual event teaches life skills, including creativity, financial literacy, responsibility, goal setting, teamwork, and customer service, using a fun method.
"This community event is all about empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to turn their business idea into reality," said Thomas Martini, owner of Vitrum Glass Group. "We are happy to offer this opportunity and witness the creativity and ambition in our youth, this event is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn, grow, and contribute to our community."
Vitrum Glass Group is once again bringing Lemonade Day to the 91Ô´´ community. The program is international, but each community is supported by a local business.
Each child who registers receives access to the Lemonade Day curriculum that teaches them lessons such as creating budgets, setting goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some with community causes.
Kids who want to participate in Lemonade Day sign up through the My Lemonade Day app or online at . That's also the website where mentors can sign up to help the kids.
Lemonade Day provides a step-by-step guide to help kids plan and execute their lemonade stands. After they have completed Lemonade Day, they can submit their business results and story to be entered into the Lemonade Day Entrepreneur of the Year contest. The winner in 91Ô´´ will go on to compete for the National Youth Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Each child is guided by a mentor, often a parent, teacher, or community leader, who provides guidance and support throughout the process. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to get involved by sponsoring stands, offering supplies, or providing locations for the lemonade stands. Those interested in help the kids can sign up through the website. There's also a page with information.
