Ringo is getting the help he needs thanks to generous members of the public.
The cat is in the care of CARES, the cat shelter based in Milner.
Ringo was slated to be put down after being hit by a car.
CARES put out a public appeal Sunday to raise $1,500 for his surgery and by Monday morning, people had donated more than $1,800. () . The total Tuesday evening was $2,050.
The two-year-old cat was hit by a car and his human family could not afford the care. The only option seemed to euthanize the cat.
Ringo has had his surgery and will need a couple of months to recover.
鈥淗e will remain in our care until he鈥檚 ready to be adopted,鈥 said Clive Ellis, with CARES.
Any extra funds donated will be earmarked for other cats requiring serious medical care.
Ellis explained that the shelter spends about $7,000 each month on medical care for the cats in its shelter.
