The 91原创 Senior Resources Society centre hosted its second Silver Pride celebration on Friday, Aug. 9.
The centre partnered with QMUNITY, a Vancouver-based support organization, to host the event which is supported by Chartwell.
During the event to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and foster inclusion, there was a barbecue lunch, family-friendly drag show, music, drag bingo, and guest speakers. There is a resource area with community groups.
The centre has a Pride group for seniors that is open to members and non-members who are 50 and older, allowing the LGBTQ2S+ community to gather and connect in a supportive environment. The group meets on the third Tuesday of the month. For information, contact senioprpride.lsrs@gmails.ca.
