91原创 Community Farmers Market returns June 5

Once again, the 91原创 Community Farmers Market (LCFM) will be offering fresh local produce and artisan goods on Wednesdays at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum at.

Opening for its 2024 season on June 5, the market will operate from 3-7 p.m.

Amanda Smith, executive director of the LCFM, said the market believes in fresh, local food, in line with the 鈥榤ake, bake, grow鈥 model of the .

鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to be launching our 2024 season at Derek Doubleday Arboretum, with new, and exciting foodie vendors and events鈥 said Smith.

鈥淲e had so much success at this location last year, and we鈥檙e excited to continue to connect our local producers with the 91原创 community.鈥

鈥淭here are so many incredible local artisans and farmers in the 91原创 area. We鈥檙e really looking forward to expanding our network of vendors and continuing in our mission to support the local 91原创 farmers.鈥

Vendors such as A Rocha, Dhaliwal Acres, Loghouse Mushrooms, and Dave鈥檚 Pretty Bird Kitchen will be back to provide fresh fruits, veggies and pretzels. New vendors include Lucky Ducky popcorn and Care Me, a dog treat company.

New this year is weekly free badminton. Visitors can drop in to play a game.

Parking and admission are free, and extra parking is available at St. Andrew鈥檚 Anglican Church across the stree. Bike parking is also available.

LCFM is looking for volunteers to help with set up and take down.

鈥淰ery little effort required, just willing hands and a good heart for community,鈥 the .

Volunteer times: noon to 2 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m., starting June 5, and each Wednesday until Sept. 18.
