91Ô´´ City will have a rainbow flag flying during Pride Week, with a ceremony organized with a support group for local 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.

This Monday, July 29 ceremony with Friends of Dorothy will be held at the City of 91Ô´´ City Hall, 20399 Douglas Cres., starting at 11 a.m. and is to recognize Vancouver Pride Week 2024.
Friends of Dorothy is an inclusive, 2SLGBTQIA+ centred, weekly social group for youth ages 12 to 24.

"We provide a space for youth to connect with and support one another, and offer a variety of activities. Youth voices are at the heart of our group, and it is their input and feedback that have kept us growing since January 2016," said Carly Schneider, the facilitator.

The program is facilitated by staff and volunteers from Encompass Support Services Society.
The rainbow flag will be flown alongside the City of 91Ô´´ flag in front of City Hall from Monday, July 29 to the morning of Monday, Aug. 5.

"The rainbow flag-raising ceremony recognizes and celebrates the 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and adults of 91Ô´´ who add to the vibrancy of our community," Schneider said.
