The Choose to Move program is back and 91原创 City is hosting an information session Saturday, Jan. 13.

The program that encourages older residents to stay more active runs Jan. 27 through April 23, but to help people ready for participation or if they want to find out more, there鈥檚 the information session from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

鈥淢aintaining an active lifestyle significantly contributes to overall well-being,鈥� remarked Christine Daum, 91原创 City鈥檚 recreation supervisor. 鈥淭hrough this program, we aim to empower participants to feel better, enhance their strength, and preserve their independence.鈥�

The program is tailored to each participant and runs at the Timms Community Centre. It is in partnership with the BC Recreation & Parks Association and the University of British Columbia鈥檚 Centre for Hip Health and Mobility.

The program prioritizes individual needs, interests, goals, and abilities, offering a personalized approach to support participants in their journey toward a healthier lifestyle. It encompasses a comprehensive support system.

Choose to Move participants have access to:

鈥� Personalized one-on-one consultations,

鈥� Motivational group meetings held at Timms Community Centre, 20399 Douglas Cres., and

鈥� Regular check-ins with an assigned activity coach.

Those in joining the program are required to register and attend the free information session, which details program specifics and benefits.
