91原创 Arts Council hosts youth workshop

Free event runs Feb. 21 to 22 in Aldergrove

The 91原创 Arts Council (LAC) is hosting a free, two-day workshop for youth and young adults under the age of 30 on Feb. 21 and 22.

Emerging artists are invited to join the Youth Education Event, which provides an opportunity to connect with professional artists through workshops, talks, and mentorships, said Mimi Soo, arts coordinator.

"I think this is a wonderful opportunity for today's emerging young artists to connect with professionals from diverse backgrounds," she told The Star.

"Each artist brings a wealth of perspectives and valuable learning experiences, which can inspire and guide the next generation in their creative journeys."

The event is designed to provide practical guidance and inspiration for young people as they explore their artistic paths, Soo added.

Friday, Feb. 21, begins with an artist talk with Sichen Grace Chen, followed by an art demo by OPUS, and a figure drawing class by John Hall.

Registration is required for these sessions at .

The next day, Saturday, Feb. 22, includes one-on-one mentorship with professional artists, curator talk by Kate Bradford, and a final artist talk and reception by Marcie Rohr.

The program takes place at the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre, 26770 29 Ave.
