A weekend full of fun and live entertainment is coming to Aldergrove for the annual fair.
Geoff Dueck, production and entertainment coordinator of the fair, has been managing artists and everything around show production for more than 30 years.
This year, the fair is heavily featuring local bands and artists performing music from the 鈥60s, 鈥70s, 鈥80s, and 鈥90s.
Members of Dance Mob are from 91原创, and perform Saturday, July 15, at 3:30 p.m.
91原创 artists like Emily Taylor Adams and Jeff Robertson perform together on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
Adams was born and raised in 91原创 and is getting back into performing after some time off from playing across Canada. Robertson, from 91原创 as well, was BC Country Music Association keyboard player of the year in previous years.
Garth Johanneson, a member of the Cowboy Church band, lives in Aldergrove.
鈥淲e try to keep a local flavour where we can, and within a lot of the other bands that are playing there will be some folks from 91原创, as well,鈥 Dueck said.
Bands thatvDueck recommends checking out also include Undercover Band, performing on Friday during the car show, plus the acapella group The UppaTones, and Day of the Dog playing on Saturday.
Day of the Dog was scheduled for last year鈥檚 fair, but unfortunately had to pull out after a band member was involved in an accident, so Dueck is looking forward to having them on stage.
鈥淚 cover all the music from [late 1900s] to rock and country because that is where we鈥檙e getting our support from the community in those types of audiences,鈥 he explained.
The venue will have a large video wall on stage to livestream the bands performing so visitors can see them from across the park as they enjoy other attractions.
Dueck said his connections in the music community have helped him work within the fair鈥檚 budget, as it relies on donations, sponsorships, and volunteers to operate.
鈥淭his is a free to the community festival. We accept donations at the gate, but nobody would be turned away if they don鈥檛 have a dollar in their pocket.鈥
Like every year, Dueck said he looks forward to seeing the smiles on people鈥檚 faces.
鈥淚 never have as much fun as I do working on the Aldergrove Fair,鈥 he said.
