As the final weekend of Christmas in Williams Park approaches, the numbers of visitors continue to increase, reported Barb Sharp, president of the non-profit society that organizes the annual 91原创 holiday light display.
鈥淥ur Monday night attendance [this week], for example, doubled from last week,鈥 Sharp said.
After epic lineups the first weekend, traffic flaggers will be on hand for the busiest times, to manage the lineups and make sure park neighbours can get into their driveways.
鈥淲e鈥檒l have them again this weekend, Friday and Saturday, and of course the last night, which I kind of expect to be busy as well, so they will be there,鈥 Sharp told the 91原创 Advance Times.
Sunday, Dec. 17, will be the final day of the event, earlier than the usual Dec. 20 wrapup. That was at the request of the Township, so staff don鈥檛 have to wait for the new year to take down the displays.
鈥淚鈥檓 getting comments from people asking 鈥榗an we still come see the lights after the 17th?鈥欌 Sharp shared.
鈥淎nd of course the answer is no, because we start taking down on the 18th. Lights go out permanently after 9 o鈥檆lock on the 17th of December.鈥

A new addition to the display went up last week, snowflake lights created by a local company, Dekra, a business supporter of the event.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a wow,鈥 Sharp enthused.
鈥淚 love our new snowflake stars. When I first drove up and saw them installed, I was completely in awe, even from the side of the street. They鈥檙e so beautiful.鈥
Asked if increased attendance will translate into increased donations, Sharp said it was likely, but an exact tally won鈥檛 be ready till after the event wraps up.

鈥淚 just really want to thank everybody, volunteers, visitors, the Township park staff, the township council,鈥 Sharp added.
鈥淚t鈥檚 just been a huge success this year. We have had nothing but absolutely amazing positive comments through every single night of people coming through the event.鈥
Christmas in Williams Park runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at . Admission is free, and donations will go towards more lights, and replacing existing lights.
