91原创 Environmental Partners Society is joining forces with the Fraser Common Farm Co-op to bring back a beloved Aldergrove farm camp.
The camp hosts 20 children and teaches them about what it鈥檚 like working on a farm. The kids also get to see how the produce they get at grocery stores is actually grown.
Sarah Cutting works at LEPS and is excited for the kids to experience farm life in Aldergrove.
鈥淗onestly, I think it鈥檚 quite a unique experience because they get to spend a whole week on a working farm,鈥 Cutting said.
鈥淲e have lots of hobby farms that allow you to come visit and you pay money and you get to come pet the animals or like ride on a ride or jump on those giant balloons. But I think what鈥檚 really special about our farm camp is you actually get to spend like a full working day there every single day.鈥

The last time that LEPS partnered with the Fraser co-op was in 2019; they weren鈥檛 able to hold the camp because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Applications for this year鈥檚 camp began May 1, and Cutting said that it filled up 鈥渜uite fast.鈥
The children joining the camp are aged six to 12. While the kids do get to work and experience what actual farm life is like, Cutting assures that there will be plenty of games and activities.
鈥淪o in the past we鈥檝e done like different crafts activities like building fairy houses, or sometimes they get to help the farmers,鈥 Cutting said.
鈥淪ometimes they get to help with simple tasks even just like shucking beans, which can be really really fun for kids to learn how to do.鈥
The camp takes place at Fraser Farm in 91原创 for a week in August, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cutting said that this Aldergrove camp is special because it teaches kids how to be a farmer authentically.
鈥淵ou actually get to see like how a farm works. You get to connect with the real life farmers.鈥
Aside from Aldergrove, LEPS puts on many other camps, all taking place during July and August.
