Stations of the Cross
Several local churches organize a unique event in Fort 91原创 on Good Friday. A wooden cross is carried by a public procession through the village to various sites which symbolize the stations. There are scripture readings and prayers offered at the various sites. The public is welcome. The event starts at 10 a.m. at the Fort 91原创 Community Hall on April 18. Township is hopping
The Township is celebrating Easter long weekend with fun activities for all ages at our recreation facilities from Friday, April 18, to Monday, April 21.
Registration may be required for some activities and is recommended to secure a spot. If a session is not at full capacity, drop-in same day admissions will be accepted. Regular admission rates apply unless otherwise indicated with complete details on the Township website.
There's Easter Zumba on Good Friday at the Walnut Grove Community Centre and the WC Blair Recreation Centre on Monday, April 21.
On Saturday at 11:30 a.m., there's a special drop-in public skate with the 91原创 91原创. All ages and all skill levels are welcome. Skate and helmet rentals are available. Regular admission rates apply and the event lasts one hour.
The Township has Easter Fun sessions throughout the weekend but they are filling fast and some may be waitlisted. Decorate festive cookies, create a piece of artwork, and take part in an Easter egg hunt. Afterwards, join the playleader for themed pool activities at the WC Blair Recreation Centre or Walnut Grove while Aldergrove has a dance party.
New tradition
First annual Easter Extravaganza at Harrison Pointe is 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. The seniors are hosting a fun-filled event for all ages (more suitable to those 10 and under). Parking is available on 52 Avenue or 216 Street. There will be Easter Bunny photos, an Easter egg hunt, craft stations, cookie decorating, games, Easter movies, and snacks and hot chocolate. The event is free.
Loft Country Farm
There's an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, a fun zone, horse drawn carriage rides, entertainment, panning for gold and gems at the water wheel, and a giant rocking horse to ride during activities at Loft Country Farm April 19 to 21.
Pawty with the animals
91原创 Animal Protection Society (LAPS) fourth annual Easter fundraiser is Saturday, April 19 with an egg hunt on the Patti Dale walking trail, facepainting, food trucks, cotton candy and popcorn, a visit by the Easter bunny, a colouring contest, live music, shelter tours, and snuggles with some adoptable animals. The event organized in partnership with the Caprice & Kylene Real Estate Team runs 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and people must book in advance at lapsbc.ca/events.
Greater Vancouver Zoo
Ostrich egg painting is happening April 18, 19, 20, and 21 at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. People must book in advance and sessions are available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The cost is $75 per egg, and funds raised go to zoo animal enrichment.
Township 7 Winery
The winery has hunting for corks and eggs in the vineyard on Sunday, April 20 between noon and 3 p.m.. Collect five hidden gems (eggs for children, corks for adults) and win prizes.
Event includes live music. Tickets are $25 per person and include a $5 food voucher for adults. Children's admission includes a $5 food voucher, goody bag, a 4-H petting zoo, and children's activities. Tickets are only required for those taking part in the egg/cork hunts.
