The charm of an old-fashioned country fair can be experienced this weekend at the 32nd annual Country Celebration at Campbell Valley Regional Park. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
This fall tradition combines nature, agriculture and community. There will be new activities like cow milking demonstrations, circus skills workshops and pony rides, in addition to family-friendly favourites such as kite-making, story telling, and llama obstacle courses.
A variety of singers, dancers, musicians and roving performers will keep fair-goers entertained all day long. Among the featured performers are the Mr. Fireman and the Flying Monkeys Horn Orchestra, Maria in the Shower, Mike Battie, and the Wild West Country Dancers.
The event features a market with local farmers and artisans, plus a variety of exhibitors providing information on local community activities, along with fun games and craft-making for kids of all ages.
Entrance is $2 per person ($1 for kids aged seven to 12; free for kids six and under and for seniors 65 and over).
