B.C.鈥檚 egg and turkey farmers have raised $213,684 for the Union Gospel Mission, through their annual golf tournament in Chilliwack. 

This was the 20th tournament, and the most the group has ever raised, according to a press release from B.C. Egg and B.C. Turkey. 

鈥淔armers are proud to produce healthy, nutritious eggs and turkey meat for the people of B.C.,鈥� said James Krahn, an egg and turkey farmer, and member of the golf tournament organizing committee. 鈥淓ating nutritious, tasty food is important for everyone but for someone who is unhoused and battling addiction, getting a warm, nutritious meal makes all the difference. We are proud to support UGM in the good work they do.鈥�
The funds raised by the golf tournament will be used to supply the Union Gospel Mission with eggs and turkey for their community kitchen.

Funds will also go to the Fraser Valley Mobile Mission, which brings food, drinks, hygiene items and information on community resources to multiple locations in the Fraser Valley.

Turkey, and those who joined the golf tournament,鈥� said Nicole Mucci, Union Gospel Missionn spokesperson. 鈥淓very day, our outreach team journeys alongside individuals in the midst of some of the darkest moments of their lives, and hopefully we get to journey alongside them through true transformation. But that takes time 鈥� and donations like this, help give us that time.鈥�
The annual golf tournament attracts more than 150 golfers and sponsors, and this year's event was held at the Chilliwack Golf Club.
