For a sixth year, the Alder Grove Heritage Society is handing out treats for Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 31.
From 3 to 7 p.m., the society will have the local museum open as a rest stop for families trick-or-treating, with free candy and hot chocolate – a special blend made in-house, explained society president Tami Quiring.
"The museum is a good resting point for families making their way along 32 Avenue, and the hot chocolate helps warm everyone up," she said.
And in the spirit of Halloween, the museum will be decorated for the occasion.
"This year we've added a Halloween photo backdrop for some spooky selfies," Quiring added.
The museum is located at 3190 271 St.
Overlapping the society's trick-or-treat event, is the Aldergrove Business Association's 'Trick-or-Treat the Town' running from 3 to 5 p.m., and the Aldergrove legion's Halloween event from 4 to 8 p.m.
