The Aldergrove library is hosting Canadian explorer John Dunn as a guest speaker on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Dunn is known as a wilderness traveller and photographer who has explored more than 8,000 km between Tofino, B.C., and the northern-most point of Canada on Ellesmere Island – with a focus on the Arctic.
"His journey is a testament to human persistence and determination," said Deanna Walker, events specialist for Fraser Valley Regional Libraries (FVRL).
Dunn has organized around 30 successful expeditions, including the first end-to-end ski traverse of Ellesmere Island and a 2,500 km journey through British Columbia, which are part of his 'Journey North' presentation.
His photography has been published in National Geographic, particularly his images of Baffin Island during a six month, 3,000 km journey.
"We're excited to experience his 'Journey North' presentation, where his breathtaking photography will transport us into the wild, leaving us inspired and in awe of the incredible landscapes he’s encountered," Walker said.
The event runs from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Aldergrove library, located at 26770 29 Ave.
