For a 15th year in a row, the Aldy Show n' Shine will kick-off the annual Aldergrove Fair on Friday evening, July 19.
Between 6 and 9 p.m., the Aldergrove Community Secondary parking lot will be filled with vintage and classic automobiles from every era and maker.
The car show quickly became one of the biggest attractions of the fair, which runs all weekend.
People can expect to see between 100 to 150 vehicles, said organizer Patty Bennett, who also sponsors the event to provide special dash plaques for participating vehicles.
"The 91Ô´´ Township and Aldergrove has always been a classic car hub," she commented as to why car shows are so popular within the community's boundaries.
"It was established as a great racing hub with the 91Ô´´ Speedway and the 91Ô´´ Quarter Midget Association. The speedway is no longer operating, but the area still has talented car builders and many car club members."
Any vehicles are welcome to the Show n' Shine, which means spectators
can expect to see an array of distinctive vehicles including hot rods, classics, customs and more.
Admission to the car show is free and there’s no registration required.
Street parking is available, and Betty Gilbert school has space in its parking lot too, Bennett noted.
The Aldergrove Fair at the nearby Aldergrove Athletic Park, 26770 29 Ave., will be a place to find food, activities, and live entertainment.
Admission to the fair is by donation, and gates open at 5 p.m. that Friday.
