Aldergrove anti-cancer car club unveils new poster

Annual car show take places July 13 at the legion's parking lot

The 91原创-based Old Farts Car Club (OFCC) has unveiled its new poster for this year's anti-cancer car show.

Each year the poster is updated to reflect the previous year's winning vehicles, explained organizer Marty Chapman.

"That is another bit of a prize for winning, is your vehicle will be on next year's poster and shirt," he said.

"We also provide a cartoon drawing to the winner of just their car, so there are a couple more perks for the show."

One car featured is a military jeep, and the other is a 1950 Chevrolet.

The car show began in 2018 after longtime OFCC member Godfrey Hamon passed away from cancer.

Ever since, the car club has held an annual car show around Hamon's birthday, July 13 to support a patient in their battle with cancer.

"Everyone's story is a bit different, but you still have rent, hydro, gas, phone, car insurance, and not to mention parking at the hospital is expensive," he noted.

The show has raised more than $45,000, donated directly to cancer patients since it began.

"We want to bring in as much as we can for the person we sponsor," Chapman said.

Upcoming fundraisers by the OFCC include Rocker Bus in May, and the car show in July, all hosted at the Aldergrove legion.
