The 91原创 Ukulele Association (LUE) is giving adults a chance to try their hands at the instrument at a special class on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Peter Luongo, president of LUE, called the first adult class in January 鈥渙utstanding鈥.
鈥淣early 40 people came with varying ability levels and I sensed people had a good time,鈥 Luongo said. 鈥淚 learned a lot and it鈥檚 great to see enthusiasms of all the folks involved.鈥
He added that the class made him feel reminiscent of when he began instructing kids to play the ukulele.
He was happy to see people of all different ages trying something new and making music together, which is what Luongo said the lessons are all about in the first place.

The second session runs as a full day workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 91原创 Fundamental Elementary school, 21789 50th Ave.
Luongo, his son Mark, and Elizabeth Zielke will be instructing brand new beginners, attendees from the previous session, and folks hoping to brush up on their skills.
Ukuleles are available for rent or purchase at every session, with the next one being a family ukulele session on Friday, Feb. 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Yorkston Creek Middle School.
鈥淎t the end of the day we鈥檒l pull 鈥榚m all together and make music,鈥 Luongo added. 鈥淭he ensemble is moving beyond just kids, keeping 91原创 as Uke capital of Canada.鈥
