One of the first Christmas shopping events saw crafts, jewelry, spices and more for sale, along with food and beverages at the Royal Canadian Legion Aldergrove Branch on Saturday, Nov. 4.
鈥淚t was a wet and dreary day, but the Shopping Extravaganza put on by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Aldergrove Legion made it brighter for many shoppers in the area,鈥 said Legion volunteer Myrtle Clift.
鈥淲e had a good turnout, even though there were many craft sales that day.鈥
The charities that the Ladies Auxiliary support, such as the Starfish backpack program, veterans lunches, Honour House, Food Bank, Meals on Wheels and several school bursaries will benefit from the monies raised at this yearly event,鈥 Clift explained.
鈥淲e are very pleased to have the support of local vendors who give of their time for this activity . Items displayed were made by talented people with many different craft items as well as yummy baking donated by the members of the Ladies Auxiliary group.鈥
The Aldergrove legion Facebook page at has more information about kitchen and lounge hours, events and program information.
