A 91原创 business has won one of a handful of awards given out by Staples during small business month.

Maker Cube is one of the six winners from across Canada in the Boost My Biz contest, receiving an award package valued at $5,000 to help the 91原创 City business.

鈥淚t鈥檚 going to be really helpful for us. We鈥檙e creating a computer lab where we can teach digital tools like CNCs, 3D printing, laser cutters, and make it more accessible to people,鈥� said Adam Ali.

He, Doug Chan, and Jacqueline Alie founded the communal workspace where people can get access to tools, knowledge, and skills to create.

Winners can select from prizing that includes technology, printing services, furniture, and supplies to help grow their businesses.

鈥淪ince 1991, we have been a partner to small businesses and we recognize the vital contributions they make in our communities,鈥� said Rachel Huckle, president and chief operating officer, Staples Canada.

鈥淏oost My Biz is a way for us to celebrate small businesses, to partner with them on solutions and help them grow to their full potential.鈥�

In June, small business owners across Canada were encouraged to share their story of how their business is making an impact in their community and why they deserve a boost.

Staples received an 鈥渋ncredible response,鈥� Huckle said, with submissions from a wide range of businesses in every sector. The contest was supported by HP, gry mattr and ergoCentric.
