Willowbrook Shopping Centre is officially opening its newest area, The Courtyard, this Friday, June 23 with a celebration from 1 to 6 p.m.

The grand opening event will include musical performances by Andrew Allen and Ryan McAllister, samples and tastings from the new restaurants, oversized yard games for families, and the chance tow in prizes. One of the prices is lunch for a year.

The Courtyard is an open plaza-style area on the north side of the mall, with restaurants and coffee shops.

Already open are a number of restaurants:

鈥� The relocated Red Robin

鈥� AO Ramen

鈥� Good Taco

鈥� Captain鈥檚 Oven Pizza

鈥� Starbucks

鈥� Lee鈥檚 Donuts

鈥� Chachi鈥檚

A few restaurants are yet to open.

Plans for the 27,500 square foot expansion of the mall were unveiled two years ago, with up to 10 new eateries planned.

The first few of the new locations began opening this spring.

Willowbrook Shopping Mall has been around since 1979, but has gone through multiple phases of expansion since that time.

It currently covers 612,000 square feet and has about 130 tenants.
