Nominations are open for Small Business BC鈥檚 Successful You awards contest.

The contest celebrates the top small businesses from around the province, with businesses nominating themselves.

Award categories are best company, best concept, best employer and best green businesses.There are also two new categories, best community impact and best online marketer.

鈥淲e look forward to a group of high-caliber nominees this year and believe the two new award categories will allow for an even greater diversity among nominees,鈥� said George Hunter, the Small Business BC chief executive officer.

Once a business is nominated, business owners will be in charge of securing as many votes as possible through social media, word of mouth, e-mail, or any other means possible.

Closing period for votes is Nov. 30.

The top 10 in each category will be announced as the finalists on Dec. 13 and they will then submit an application which the judges will use to narrow the list down to the top five.

The top five will present a 10-minute pitch to judges with the winners announed at the Successful You awards ceremony on Feb. 28.
